SAP HANA Account Activation using ChAI

This wiki page outlines the step-by-step process for activating a SAP HANA user account using IT-Conductor’s Change Automation Intelligence (ChAI). By automating this task with ChAI, IT teams can ensure consistent, auditable, and efficient user account activations—reducing manual effort and minimizing the risk of errors. Typical scenarios include re-activating locked or expired accounts during audits, enabling temporary access for developers or consultants, automating user provisioning during SAP system onboarding, and accelerating response times during access-related incident resolution.

Designed to support streamlined change management across SAP landscapes, ChAI enables secure, trackable workflows that improve operational control and compliance in HANA system administration.

Pre-Requisites

Before running the automation in IT-Conductor, make sure you’ve done the following:

  • Have an active IT-Conductor account with administrator privileges.

  • The HANA system must be registered in IT-Conductor for monitoring. See SAP HANA System Monitoring for more details.

  • Have a HANA user (with HANA ‘USER ADMIN’ system privilege) associated with IT-Conductor robot/automation account so it can perform the user ACTIVATION action.

  • Have access to the HANA user credentials that need to be activated or reset, since following the activation, you can have the password to use with that privileged user account.

How To Activate an SAP HANA User via ChAI
