# Dashboard Overview

### Background

A monitoring dashboard is a visual display that you can customize to show all the metric data that you can use to monitor the system's overall health. Dashboards are designed to show where the issues are and proactively monitor the system to identify problems that need attention. It can act as a guide for improvements by providing critical information about the monitored system.

### IT-Conductor Dashboards and Panels

Under the Dashboards Menu, you will see the different dashboards provided in your role.

#### Basis Dashboard

The Basis dashboard is a role-based dashboard customized for SAP Basis Admins to focus on specific systems for monitoring and operations.

* **Availability Panel** - displays the availability of systems that are a high priority to the Admin, and it allows for easy detection of any system availability disruptions. You can quickly drill down to any system for further investigation.
* **Operational Alerts** - capture the alerts generated in the last 24 hours on any monitored systems.
* **Performance Overview** - displays the important metrics of a particular system such as the Front-end Response Time, Dialog Users Logged In, Dialog Response Time, etc.
* **Service Health Grid** - gives a high-level overview of the health of all the monitored systems. The color indicates the various health states of the systems.

#### Default Dashboard

After logging in to IT-Conductor, the default or the pre-defined dashboard is already set. In this dashboard, various panels are also available such as the alert panel, the operational alert panel, where you can select which graph you want to see in the dashboard, and the system health grid.

By default, each panel has the auto-refresh function that typically refreshes the data in 60 seconds. The reload button is also available if you want to refresh the data manually.

#### CIO Dashboard

This management dashboard shows important metrics that need to be tracked daily. This dashboard contains a high-level overview of the system's health.

#### Administrator Dashboard

This dashboard provides an important overview of information about the systems. In this dashboard, you have the flexibility to define systems, including creating/adding a new system to be managed and monitored. Having administrator privilege, you have access to:

<table><thead><tr><th width="236.5">Systems/Servers</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Sites</strong></td><td>Functionalities that allow defining the group of systems.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Gateways</strong></td><td>Remote connections that will enable IT-Conductor to communicate to your premise or cloud systems.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>SAP Systems</strong></td><td>List of NetWeaver Systems that you can add for monitoring.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>SAP Java Systems</strong></td><td>Standard NetWeaver Java Systems that you can add to monitor and include advanced PI/PO environment monitoring.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>SAP Host Agents</strong></td><td>The basic foundation of SAP monitoring. IT-Conductor uses this to provide an additional layer of monitoring.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>SAP HANA Systems</strong></td><td>SAP HANA systems to be monitored and keep an eye on resource usage and performance.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Oracle Instances</strong></td><td>Oracle Databases that are being monitored using Java Database Connectivity.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>SAP ASE Servers</strong></td><td>Sybase servers to be monitored, including the thread pools, devices, and database alerts.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Microsoft SQL Servers</strong></td><td>MS SQL Servers to be monitored and display active transactions, timeouts, linked server status, etc.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>MaxDB Instances</strong></td><td>SAP Databases that need to regulate and track the availability and performance of production databases.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Linux/Unix Systems</strong></td><td>Linux Systems to be monitored via SSH.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Windows Systems</strong></td><td>Windows servers that need to be monitored such as performance and operational statistics of the system.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>BusinessObjects Systems</strong></td><td>BOBJ systems to be analyzed and monitored including several BODS components such as repositories, RFC servers, batch jobs, etc.</td></tr></tbody></table>

You can expand the headers to display the list of the systems/databases by clicking the **"maximize tile"** icon.

#### Demo Dashboard

This is the dashboard that the IT-Conductor team used to present how the platform works from the perspective of an end-user. This is customized based on the important features that the clients/end-users should know about monitoring their systems.

#### System Health Grid

A monitoring system involves analyzing lots of data and metrics. It's not easy to diagnose when issues occur. IT-Conductor makes it simpler to acquire information needed for troubleshooting and find the problem's root cause through the expandable service grid levels. With all the data the platform receives from the monitored systems, IT-Conductor can display real-time metrics same as historical data from the service grid.

In the sample service grid below, you can see how the service grid expands its systems. Click on the component directly to focus on a specific system/component. Clicking the arrow will give you the lower components of the system.
